Every figure comes from a real, merged task in this repository.

**Where these numbers come from.** Every card below is a real task, built by an agent and merged into the repository this site is built from: our own bugs, not case studies. Cost is the task's whole lifetime spend; merged date and diff come from this repo's own git history, reproducible via `scripts/examples-stats.sh`. Looking for a specific job instead of a specific task? See the job pages at [/use-cases](https://codeherder.com/use-cases).

## Brief it like you'd brief a teammate

Describe what "done" looks like in plain language from the web app: no CLI, no git. See the full walkthrough at [/ship-without-an-engineer](https://codeherder.com/ship-without-an-engineer).

- Bug fix No code Missing skills link in Set Up section on Group ✓ Added the missing nav link, so a Skills workspace a group inherits is reachable from that group's own Set up section. $3.05 · 20m merged Aug 7, 2026 2 files · +16 -2 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/skills-link-in-groupnav/)

- Bug fix No code Comments and Sub tasks icons should be on the same line as the title ✓ Stopped the counts from wrapping onto their own line and made them clickable, so clicking one jumps straight to its section. $21.75 · 2h 33m merged Aug 6, 2026 7 files · +201 -19 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/comment-subtask-counts-wrap/)

There is now also no way to get to your profile on mobile. ✓ Fixed the mobile topbar overflow, which also restored the only path to Profile, Theme, and Sign out on a phone. $20.87 · 4h 53m merged Aug 6, 2026 10 files · +311 -52 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/mobile-usermenu-cutoff/)

- New feature No code Ridiculous that the size is truncated on this table. Also we need to be able to view attachments... so we should be able to preview images, videos or PDF's etc in the browser in a popover/modal. ✓ Fixed the truncated Size column and shipped an in-browser preview modal for images, video, audio, and PDFs, with zoom and a download fallback. $24.53 · 1h 51m merged Aug 6, 2026 23 files · +1055 -122 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/attachment-preview-modal/)

- New feature No code We recently changed it so that devices didn't keep the names of the ec2 servers they were created from - probably an ok change... but what it has been replaced with is useless... some hash that means nothing... ✓ Added an operator-set device name that now wins everywhere a device is shown, with the old hostname kept as a fallback. $29.54 · 3h 9m merged Aug 7, 2026 58 files · +902 -200 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/device-display-name/)

- Docs No code Explore this product and its recent history, identify one impactful improvement to the customer-facing documentation under support/, and implement it thoroughly. ✓ Rewrote the Observability support page to match the shipped report. The old page counted four summary numbers; the report now counts ten. The page missed the new filters and the daily trend. It also missed the time split, and it undercounted the CLI command family. $22.33 · 1h 1m merged Sep 15, 2026 5 files · +76 -30 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/observability-doc-drift/)

- Reporting No code Copy and number formatting issues on the Observability page: durations mix units, a percent column shows a dash for small values, a token count has no separator, a date range shows the wrong end, and one column mixes three time formats. ✓ Gave each quantity one formatter: seconds or minutes for durations, a proper under-0.1% floor for percents, comma-separated token counts, an inclusive date range, and one time format per column. $10.16 · 2h 45m merged Sep 15, 2026 17 files · +203 -37 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/observability-number-formatting/)

For developers

## Route it to the agent with the right capabilities

File from the CLI or the web app; capability-based routing sends it to an agent tagged for the job.

- Bug fix Developer Nine of the SPA's realtime event subjects route to zero cache invalidations, so the Members, Repos, Secrets, Integrations and Plan screens never live-refresh — a second viewer sees stale data until they navigate away and back. ✓ Wired live-refresh for the missing subjects, and rewrote the guard's admission table so what's left out has a durable reason instead of "out of scope for this refactor."$11.93 · 48m merged Aug 7, 2026 4 files · +351 -30 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/realtime-cache-invalidation-gap/)

- Bug fix Developer Resolving a task's effective workflow has two implementations, and they disagree about what to do when the stored pin does not parse. One logs; the other is completely silent. ✓ Made the silent fallback observable, fixed the DTO builder's guard to match, and corrected the comment claiming the bad path was unreachable. $18.07 · 5h 6m merged Aug 6, 2026 15 files · +388 -34 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/workflow-override-silent-fallback/)

- Bug fix Developer The device detail page reports the host a device registered on, not the host it is running on now. On EC2/spot devices the instance is replaced regularly, so this field drifts and never catches up. ✓ Now refreshes hostname on tunnel connect and adds instance-id and current-host-since as first-class fields, so the device page always points at the host actually serving it. $50.04 · 3h 40m merged Aug 6, 2026 27 files · +839 -26 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/device-hostname-drift/)

- Refactor Developer Identify the single most impactful source of unnecessary complexity in this repo, and ship one cohesive change that makes it meaningfully simpler. ✓ Deleted the legacy first-pass-rate report everywhere it lived in the product, and pointed the docs at the stage-signals report that already replaced it. $70.52 · 4h 13m merged Sep 15, 2026 45 files · +195 -1077 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/retire-legacy-first-pass-rate/)

- Maintenance Developer internal/loccensus's Ingest re-inserts every per-area breakdown row one at a time inside the same transaction as the snapshot upsert, up to 64 single-row INSERTs per ingest instead of one multi-row INSERT. ✓ Replaced the per-area insert loop with one multi-row INSERT, built the same way an existing webhook batching helper already does it. $12.79 · 3h 26m merged Sep 14, 2026 2 files · +61 -13 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/loccensus-batch-insert/)

- Maintenance Developer A blur-triggered validation probe found five form routes with no observable validation-error element, and no route had been tested for a submit-click or a server-error state at all. ✓ Drove all five routes with a real submit click, added a server-error test arm, and extended the browser check so this whole state family has real coverage, not just the blur case. $15.47 · 3h 56m merged Sep 14, 2026 5 files · +448 -28 [Read the full story →](https://codeherder.com/examples/form-validation-coverage-gap/)
