Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do with the CodeHerder Service. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to this AUP.
1. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Service to:
- Develop, distribute, or execute malware, ransomware, spyware, or any code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to any system or data;
- Violate, circumvent, or assist others in violating applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights — including intellectual property, privacy, and export-control laws;
- Generate, store, or transmit content that is illegal, defamatory, fraudulent, or that infringes any third-party intellectual property right;
- Conduct phishing, social engineering, credential harvesting, or any form of deceptive activity against users or third parties;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, networks, data, or accounts that you do not own or have explicit permission to access;
- Harass, threaten, or abuse any individual or group;
- Use the Service to generate spam, bulk unsolicited communications, or to support fraudulent schemes.
2. Abuse & Security
We actively monitor the Service for abuse, unusual activity, and security events. You must not:
- Perform or initiate denial-of-service attacks, port scans, or vulnerability probes against CodeHerder's infrastructure or any other target via the Service;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive source code from the Service beyond what is expressly permitted;
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service, including by overloading systems in ways that degrade service for other users;
- Circumvent or disable any security, authentication, or rate-limiting features of the Service.
If you discover a potential security vulnerability in the Service, please disclose it responsibly by managing your account at app.codeherder.com and using the available feedback mechanisms, rather than exploiting or publicly disclosing it before we have had a reasonable opportunity to address it.
3. Resource Limits
The Service provides shared compute and infrastructure. You must use resources in a manner that is fair to all users. Specifically, you must not:
- Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining, blockchain validation, or any workload whose primary purpose is to consume compute resources rather than to accomplish software engineering tasks;
- Deliberately generate excessive API calls or task volume beyond what your subscription plan allows, or in a way intended to circumvent usage metering;
- Configure agents or devices in a way that monopolises shared resources or degrades the experience for other users.
We may apply rate limits, throttling, or usage caps to enforce these limits and to maintain consistent service quality.
4. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that a violation has occurred or is likely, we may:
- Issue a warning and require you to cease the violating activity;
- Temporarily suspend your access to the Service;
- Permanently terminate your account and access to the Service;
- Report the activity to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required or appropriate.
Account suspension and termination are governed by the Termination section of our Terms of Service. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice before taking action unless an immediate response is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
We update this policy as the Service evolves. Check back periodically for changes.
